Members that were nominated this year: Jamie Burk, Michael Gauthier, Nick Rankin, Ginette Rochon, and Jeannette Sylvestre
After discussion at the March regular meeting of the Board excluding the above mentioned, it was agreed to present the Volunteer award plaque for this season to, Ginette Rochon. Without Ginette this year we would have been in chaos a few times over… Not only the secretary role (for last 8 years) , Ginette spear headed filling in two Trillium applications by gathering the information our committee compiled and submitted the application on our behalf. Social convener for Friday night Mixed league, volunteered for everything going from starting of the year making ice, decorating, bartending, and then to the big one with no bonspiel chair this year Ginette takes the lead with 3 sub- committees to keep our bonspiels rolling. Great Job!
BONSPIELS AND FUNSPIELS
Every year the Sturgeon Falls Curling Club hosts a Mixed, Ladies’ and Men’s Bonspiel. The club also hosts other Funspiels and special events throughout the season such as our Christmas Party on Dec 13, 2014 in conjunction with the West Nipissing Chamber of Commerce.
LEAGUES FOR ALL AGES
We offer a Senior’s drop in league on Monday and Thursday, a Tuesday night ladies’ league, a Wednesday night men’s league, a Thursday night business league open to both men and women as well as a Friday night mixed league. We also have a youth curling program that meets every Sunday.
